Rxt65 Corrosion Resistant Conveying Screw Elements for Puffed PET Food Extrusion
In food extrusion, the failure mechanism is not abrasion — it is corrosion.
A puffed PET food line runs warm, moist, mildly acidic material through the extruder for a full production shift, and is then washed down with caustic and acidic cleaning agents before the next one starts. Standard nitrided screw elements, the default choice for industrial compounding, meet that environment badly. The nitrided layer is thin, it is not a true corrosion barrier, and once repeated cleaning exposure has breached it, the underlying steel corrodes and pits.
The result is not a dramatic breakdown. It is a surface that gradually roughens, holds product residue, becomes progressively harder to clean, and eventually fails a hygiene inspection.
That is why conveying elements for puffed food duty are specified on corrosion resistance and surface finish first, and on hardness second.
Material Selection for Corrosive Food Duty

Heat Treatment by Ourselves
Heat treatment is one of the most important steps in screw production. We have purchased professional heat treatment equipment so that the process is controlled in-house rather than outsourced — which is what allows the quality of the finished element to be fully guaranteed.

Why Choose Us
Ordering Information
To quote accurately, please provide: machine brand and model (e.g. Rxt65), screw diameter, element type and length, OEM part number if available, processed food formulation and its approximate acidity, chloride or salt content, cleaning regime (CIP chemicals used), and quantity. If you only have the worn or corroded part, we can reverse-engineer from a sample or a dimensional drawing.
