TME 40/40 L is a reverse left-hand toothed mixing component designed for co-rotating twin-screw extruders, with 40mm lead and 40mm effective axial length. Manufactured via precision 5-axis CNC machining, this reverse tooth mixing element features multi-layer symmetrical tooth profiles and standard involute inner spline bore for quick installation on 40-series twin screw shafts.
Different from forward mixing blocks, its reverse helical tooth structure creates local melt backflow and controlled backpressure inside the barrel. The staggered tooth ridges continuously split, fold and recombine polymer melt streams, delivering powerful distributive mixing while building stable pressure retention. It greatly extends melt residence time, fully homogenizes pigments, additives, fillers and flame retardants, and eliminates uneven mixing, material agglomeration and volatile residues.
This reverse toothed mixing block is widely used for devolatilization, reactive compounding, high-filler modification and masterbatch production. Standard material is nitrided 38CrMoAl steel; optional W6Mo5Cr4V2 high-speed steel and HIP powder alloy are available for heavy wear conditions. The mirror-polished surface reduces material adhesion and accelerates screw purging during color switching.
Its compact 40*40mm dimension is fully compatible with TSE40, ZE40, TEX40 and all other 40mm co-rotating twin screw extruder models.

A1: TME 40/40 L is a left-hand reverse toothed mixing block with 40mm lead and 40mm length. It creates melt backflow and stable backpressure inside twin screw barrels, mainly used for devolatilization, reactive extrusion, high-filler blending and high-concentration masterbatch production to achieve full material homogenization.
A2: TME 40/40 R forward mixing blocks transport melt forward with low backpressure for basic distributive mixing. TME 40/40 L reverse tooth structure hinders melt flow to build backpressure, extend residence time, suitable for devolatilization and reactive compounding sections. They are usually matched together in one screw layout.
A3: Standard material is nitrided 38CrMoAl steel. We provide W6Mo5Cr4V2 high-speed steel and HIP alloy for high-filler, abrasive processing conditions; 316 stainless steel is optional for food-grade plastic extrusion.
A4: This 40*40mm reverse toothed mixing element fits all 40-series co-rotating twin screw extruders, including TSE40, ZE40, TEX40. Custom internal spline profiles can be processed to match different brand screw shafts.
A5: The multi-tooth structure provides mild distributive mixing without strong shear cutting. It only builds moderate backpressure, avoiding overheating and molecular chain breakage, safe for heat-sensitive biodegradable plastics and low-melting-point polymers.
